EmpowerHER graduates celebrate six months of leadership growth

This week we celebrated an incredibly special group of women at the EmpowerHER Women in Manufacturing Leadership Program Graduation.

As part of ManufactHER Cohort One, these women leaders have spent the past six months developing their leadership skills through a series of engaging workshops, networking opportunities and peer connection, facilitated by Lysander.

The graduation event brought participants together to reflect on their journey and celebrate the progress they have made both professionally and personally. Through a series of presentations, participants shared their experiences, learnings and the impact the program has had on their confidence, leadership approach and future aspirations.

Reflecting on the journey

One of the key themes throughout the day was the evolving nature of leadership and the importance of leading with both strength and authenticity.

As Samantha Swain from Profence shared:

“Modern leadership asks for something different from us. It asks for resilience and empathy. Accountability and compassion.”

These leaders showed immense support for one another as they reflected on their growth, challenges and achievements over the past six months. Looking back on where they started and the skills and tools they have gained, it was clear to see the positive impact ManufactHER has had.

Participant reflections reinforced this impact.

“It really has sparked a passion in me to be a stronger leader,” said Peta Ingall from Chamberlain Group.

Monique Preston from Mars Food Australia described the experience as “an absolute journey” and reflected on how much more impactful the program had been than she initially expected.

Kate Gilbert from Mars Food Australia shared how the program transformed her approach to leadership.

“Before ManufactHER started I had a one-style leadership. When I look at myself after ManufactHER, the biggest thing for me is now adapting my style and putting it into practice every day.”

Amanda Bloom from VanHomes reflected on the confidence and capability she had gained throughout the program.

“This course has helped me see the potential I have and has also given me the tools to start being the leader I need to be today.”

Building the future of manufacturing

Created to support greater gender equity in manufacturing, ManufactHER aims to empower more women to thrive in the industry, build confidence in leadership roles and create pathways for future generations. By investing in women and fostering more inclusive workplaces, the project is helping to shape a stronger future for manufacturing on the Central Coast and beyond.

This graduation marks the conclusion of the EmpowerHER program for ManufactHER cohort one, but for participants it is also the beginning of the next stage of their leadership journey.

CCGT congratulates all graduates on their commitment, growth and achievements throughout the program.

We also extend our thanks to Lysander, Aurora Aritao, Central Coast Industry Connect, participating businesses and everyone who contributed to making EmpowerHER such a success.
