ManufactHER Employer Attraction and Inclusive Recruitment Workshop

Every business has a story about what makes it a great place to work. For ManufactHER Cohort 1 businesses, our Employer Attraction and Inclusive Recruitment Workshop was about learning to tell theirs.

Hosted at Chamberlain Group and facilitated by Jacqui Daley from The Measured Marketer, this session focused on practical ways businesses can strengthen how they present themselves as employers and improve their recruitment messaging.

As our CEO and ManufactHER Project Lead Alison Cook observed on the day, the cohort was really working hard to pull those messages out.

The group worked through how to write job ads that speak to women and people from diverse backgrounds, how to spot language and recruitment habits that might be quietly turning applicants away, and how to make simple, immediate improvements across job ads, websites, social media, and recruitment platforms.

Cohort 1 businesses are committed to positive change within the manufacturing industry.

Jacqui reflected: “It was really great to see how engaged the cohort was, really trying to pull apart all the benefits and proof points around why they’ve got such a great place to work.”

The feedback from participants echoed that energy. As CCGT’s ManufactHER Industry Liaison Peta Ross noted, “There was a lot of feedback around the opportunities they’ve revealed and some of the foundational things they’re going to implement.”

What made the day so encouraging was seeing how much these businesses already have to offer, and their commitment to making sure candidates can actually see it. The future of manufacturing on the Central Coast, and the careers of women in it, is in good hands.

A huge thank you to our partners for making ManufactHER possible, and Cohort 1 businesses and participants for your ongoing commitment to positive change.
