CCGT has joined Iris Foundation’s The Prevention Collective as a Lead Partner, supporting local suicide prevention work across the Central Coast.
Iris Foundation has worked in the Central Coast community for more than 20 years, with a focus on suicide prevention, resilience and connection. Now, The Prevention Collective brings businesses, individuals and community together around earlier prevention, providing ongoing support for Iris Foundation’s work while helping prevention knowledge and resources reach more local workplaces and communities.
CCGT works with hundreds of apprentices and trainees each year, as well as the employers, schools, families and community organisations around them. Our Workforce Consultants stay connected with apprentices and trainees throughout their employment, providing support as they progress through their apprenticeship or traineeship.
CCGT CEO Alison Cook said joining The Prevention Collective was an opportunity to support established local prevention work and learn from Iris Foundation’s experience.
“We’re connected with a lot of people and workplaces across the Central Coast, so this is an opportunity to support important work happening locally and learn from people who know this space well,” said Alison.
“We want our team to build their knowledge, get involved and be able to share useful information with the people we work with too.”
Sue Liptrott, CEO of Iris Foundation, said:
“We can’t just keep waiting until people reach crisis before we respond. We have to get in earlier, that means strengthening people, workplaces and communities before things unravel. It means helping people notice, connect, speak up and reach support sooner.
“When businesses, individuals and local organisations stand with prevention, they become part of changing the story before crisis takes hold.”
What the partnership will involve
As a Lead Partner, CCGT staff will have opportunities to participate in prevention activities, briefings and partner events with Iris Foundation.
CCGT will also support selected Iris Foundation initiatives and share practical prevention information and resources with its network of employers, apprentices, trainees and community partners.
Through the partnership, CCGT staff will be able to learn more about the prevention work happening locally and the role workplaces and communities can play in strengthening connection and helping people access support.
CCGT looks forward to working alongside Iris Foundation and other members of The Prevention Collective throughout the partnership.
