Tips for Interviews

Interviews are your chance to meet with an employer and discuss the position in more detail. If you are fortunate enough to be invited to an interview, it means that CCGT are considering you to join our team of dedicated apprentices and trainees.

It is your opportunity to convince CCGT, or one of our host employers, that you are the best person for the position. You want to “stand out” during our interview process – but make sure you are remembered for all of the right reasons! First impressions are crucial.

Studies have shown it only takes on average seven seconds to make a first impression so best to make it a good one! It is also proven that when meeting someone for the first time, non-verbal communication, (such as eye contact, body language and tone) has four times more impact than the words that come out of our mouth!

Remember - you don’t get a second chance at a first impression!

Aspects such as presentation, research, preparation and your interview responses all play a part in determining your success at an interview.

If you would like more information and handy hints on how to ace an interview, we highly recommend booking a “Career Mapping” session with a CCGT Career Specialist.
